Every unit,first-passperfect.

Duromex is the autonomous operations layer for appliance factories. It perceives every unit — forming, enamel, foam, wiring, leak and functional test — acts on every stage, and uses a line-and-product twin to hit target quality, yield and takt before the build.

One appliance.
Seven stages.
One autonomous loop.

A refrigerator is formed, welded, enamelled, foamed, wired, tested and packed. Today each stage is a separate machine with a separate vendor and a separate blind spot. Duromex runs them as a single loop that perceives every unit and acts on every stage.

Thin margins die of a thousand small failures

Hundreds of millions of appliances are built every year in one of the most competitive, razor-thin-margin industries on Earth. These are the six leaks that decide whether a plant makes money.

Functional-test failures

A failure at end-of-line means rework at the most expensive possible moment — after every minute of value has already been added.

Refrigerant & water leaks

A hidden leak is a warranty return, an energy-rating miss and, under tightening F-gas rules, a compliance event.

Surface, weld & enamel defects

A dent, a bad seam or a paint run downgrades the product and pushes it into a rework loop that never recovers its margin.

Foaming voids & density errors

Polyurethane insulation sets thermal performance. A void you cannot see becomes an energy rating you cannot claim.

Wiring & component errors

A mis-seated connector or a missed torque becomes a field failure, and at volume, a recall.

Labour cost, turnover & high mix

High-volume lines fight relentless turnover, while frequent model changes strain fixed automation that cannot adapt.

Perceive. Plan. Act.
Then prove it.

01

Perceive

Fused vision, thermal, acoustic, pressure-decay, torque-tool, PLC and functional-test streams describe the panel, the surface, the assembly and the leak path on every unit — not a sample.

  • 20–60 camera and sensor streams per line Aspirational
  • Sub-100 ms station decisions where takt demands it Aspirational
  • Every unit carries a serialised perception record
02

Plan

The orchestrator plans the form-and-finish, foam, assemble-and-wire and leak/functional-test sequence for the product actually on the line — including model changeovers.

  • Product, BOM and recipe grounded planning
  • cuOpt line balancing and test sequencing
  • Changeover plans validated in the twin first
03

Act

Adaptive control writes back into the press, the enamel line, the foaming machine, the assembly stations and the testers — within the authority the plant grants.

  • Graduated autonomy: shadow → advisory → control
  • Idempotent steps with fail-safe line stop
  • Every write is scoped, logged and reversible
04

Sense & predict

Surface, weld and assembly defects, foaming voids, refrigerant and water leaks and functional performance are predicted before the tester confirms them.

  • Defect-to-cause attribution upstream
  • Void and density-gradient forecasting
  • Micro-leak signatures below tester thresholds
05

Optimise

First-pass yield, scrap, rework, energy and line balance are optimised continuously across the factory, not tuned once per quarter.

  • First-pass-yield uplift as the primary metric
  • Scrap and rework attributed to a station
  • Energy per unit tracked against the rating
06

Log & retrain

Every action lands in an immutable, assurance-grade quality and safety audit log. Every engineer correction trains the models.

  • Citation-backed, traceable outputs
  • Versioned per-tenant models and memory
  • Warranty outcomes fed back to the corpus

A system of action, not another dashboard

Incumbents sell a press, or a paint line, or a foaming machine, or a tester, or an MES. None of them close the loop. Duromex is the layer that does.

Closed loop

Perception wired to control

Vision, thermal, acoustic, pressure and test signals do not stop at a dashboard — they write back into the press, the foamer, the stations and the testers, inside the authority you grant.

Twin

Hit quality before the build

An Omniverse line-and-product twin simulates forming, foaming, assembly and functional performance to hit target quality, yield and takt before a single unit is made.

Changeovers validated in simulation

Assurance

Auditable by construction

Every agent action lands in an immutable quality and safety audit log, with citations back to the BOM, recipe, standard or procedure that justified it.

Moat

The craft, encoded

Every supervised correction from a process engineer or test technician trains the models — capturing scarce craft that currently walks out of the plant at retirement.

annual market growth

Market figures are Duromex estimates built from public automation, test and MES market data. Autonomous forming, assembly and test control, surface and assembly-defect sensing, foaming optimisation and appliance digital twins are the fastest-growing segments.

Seven agents. One factory orchestrator.

Each agent owns a stage of the build. The orchestrator sequences them against the product actually on the line.

Agent 01

Form-and-Finish

Controls sheet-metal forming and stamping, cabinet fabrication and the enamel/paint line — forming parameters, weld and seam quality, coverage and cure.

  • Adaptive press-parameter control
  • Seam and weld quality scoring
  • Enamel/paint coverage and film build
  • Changeover recipe carry-over
Agent 02

Defect-and-Surface

Senses and predicts surface, weld, dent and enamel/paint defects plus assembly-completeness errors from fused vision at line speed.

  • Station-level inspection at takt
  • Dent, orange-peel, run and sag classes
  • Assembly-completeness verification
  • Defect-to-cause attribution upstream
Agent 03

Foam-and-Insulate

Controls polyurethane foaming and insulation fill — density, distribution, voids — and the thermal performance that sets the energy rating.

  • Shot-weight and mix-ratio control
  • Void and density-gradient prediction
  • Jig and cure-time optimisation
  • Thermal-performance forecast per cabinet
Agent 04

Assemble-and-Wire

Controls component, wiring and electronics assembly with placement, torque and connector verification on every unit.

  • Torque and fastening verification
  • Connector seating and polarity checks
  • Harness routing confirmation
  • PCB and sensor presence/orientation
Agent 05

Leak-and-Test

Runs refrigerant and water leak detection and functional, performance and energy testing with automated failure triage.

  • Pressure-decay and tracer-gas fusion
  • Micro-leak signature detection
  • Functional/energy test triage
  • Rework routing with a probable cause
Agent 06

Robot-and-Handling

Drives robotic assembly, material handling and packing — including robot-zone safety awareness and pack verification.

  • Cobot task allocation
  • Material-handling flow control
  • Pack and label verification
  • Safe-stop and zone supervision
Agent 07

Yield-and-Throughput

Optimises line balance, first-pass yield, scrap, rework and energy across the whole factory, not one station.

  • Line balancing and takt protection
  • Scrap and rework attribution
  • Model-changeover sequencing
  • Energy per unit produced

Autonomy that knows what it is building

Duromex is vertical by design. A refrigerator cabinet, a washer drum and an enamelled oven cavity fail in completely different ways — and a generic vision vendor treats them all as pixels.

What plant, process and quality teams tell us

“Our end-of-line functional testers told us what failed. They never told us which press stroke or foam shot caused it. That link is the whole product.”

“Foam voids are invisible until the energy rating comes back wrong. Predicting density distribution before the cabinet cures is the part I could not buy anywhere else.”

“If it writes to the press, it needs an audit trail a quality auditor accepts. Duromex started there instead of bolting it on.”

The questions plant directors ask first

Does Duromex replace my MES, press controller or leak tester?

No. Duromex sits at the factory edge alongside them and turns them into a closed loop. We read from and write back to your forming press, enamel line, foaming machine, assembly stations, leak/functional testers and appliance MES through APIs, OPC UA and OT connectors. MES tracks what happened; Duromex acts on it.

How does autonomy start safely?

It starts switched off. Every deployment runs in shadow mode first, measuring the agent against your engineers and testers on a baseline you define. Then advisory mode, where the agent recommends and a human approves. Control authority is granted per line, per workflow, per risk level — and it is revocable.

What happens to our recipes and quality data?

They stay yours and stay isolated. Per-tenant data and model scoping is enforced end to end, an on-prem option exists for sensitive producers, and cross-factory learning is federated so shared models improve without your product recipes or quality data leaving your boundary.

What does a pilot look like?

A paid pilot on one line with one written success metric — typically first-pass yield, functional-test failure rate, leak/warranty rate or scrap. We instrument in shadow mode, measure the baseline, then prove the delta. If we miss the metric, you have not bought a platform.

Why does this need GPUs at the edge?

Because decisions have to happen before the unit advances. Twenty to sixty synchronised camera and sensor streams per line, sub-100 ms station decisions, multimodal leak/thermal/acoustic/pressure fusion and concurrent model serving are not CPU workloads. Training, synthetic rare-fault generation and Omniverse simulation add to that.

Is Duromex a consultancy or an integrator?

Neither. Duromex is an independent product company building original Physical AI software for appliance factories. We are not a reseller, an outsourced development shop or a division of a public company.

Pick the line that hurts most.
We will start there.

A paid pilot, one written success metric, shadow mode first. If we do not beat your baseline, you have not bought a platform.
